Position:      Senior Staff Accountant

Location:     Syracuse (Liverpool), NY (Fully in Office)

Salary:         To commensurate with experience + Equity ownership upside & Commission

Growing boutique Accounting & Tax Services firm seeks Tax Manager

• Responsibilities:Deliver a full range of tax services by preparing federal and state income taxes for individuals, and small business clients. 
• Follows all procedures to ensure the required documentation for tax returns are received, stored and maintained
• Provide tax planning consultation to tax clients
• Builds relationships and interacts with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expert tax services
• Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates knowledge of client businesses
• Reviewing of returns completed by other tax preparers
• Supervising, reviews and evaluates work of tax staff
• Coordinate and monitor training of staff with owner
• Manage tax compliance process, including all required documents for tax returns
• Improve processes by developing, implementing or improving best practice procedures
• Updating and continue to design tax worksheets and procedure for more accurate and efficient tax work
• Help maintain and create procedures and update tax manual
• Responding to tax notices & correspondence received by tax agencies
• Prepares internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other government agencies.
• Manage and coordinate tax audits, tax changes, budgets & productions goals for multiple clients
• Recruiting, interviewing and training new staff members involved with the tax business
• Works with CEO to design marketing and growth ideas
• Works to build business and create a “brand”
• QualificationsCPA, or EA certification
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation & filings of personal & small business tax returns
• Supervisory experience
• Belief in “small business” ideals with entrepreneurial approach
