Title:           Associate Attorney –Land Use/Municipal

Location:   Walden, NY (Orange County) - Fully in Office

Salary:       $125,000 - $225,000 + Bonus

Growing Established Law Firm Seeks a Land Use /Municipal Attorney to join their team!

Responsibilities:

·      Represent clients before town/village boards, planning boards, zoning boards of appeals, and other governmental entities.

·      Handle a variety of municipal and land use matters, including SEQR compliance and local regulatory issues.

·      Prepare for and attend night meetings, public hearings, and administrative proceedings.

·      Attend and provide counsel at planning board and zoning board meetings, city council meetings, and public hearings.

Skills & Experience:

·      Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in New York State.

• 3–5 years of experience in municipal and land use law.

·       Strong knowledge of state land use statutes, zoning laws, environmental regulations, and redevelopment statutes.

·       Experience working with or for municipalities, planning boards, or zoning boards preferred.

• Demonstrated experience attending and presenting at municipal or administrative hearings.
• Strong understanding of SEQR and land use regulations.
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat; experience with PerfectLaw a plus.
• Ability to work fully in-office & attend evening meetings when required
