Location:   Tampa, Fl (Fully on-site)

Salary:        $65K-$69K

 

Growing Non-profit organization seeks a hands-on Facilities Manager to join their team.

Position Summary:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the building’s physical facilities. This role oversees building maintenance, repairs, vendor relationships, and facilities staff while ensuring a high-quality environment for visitors & staff. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical skills, strong leadership capabilities, and experience managing external trade vendors in a public-facing cultural institution.

Responsibilities:

·       Supervises & manages all aspects of facility maintenance and janitorial staff

·       Assists with larger projects including scheduling, planning, implementing, and tracking. 

·       Purchases supplies for all Facility work. 

·       Develops and maintains relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective facility maintenance and repair services. 

·       Monitors and manages facility budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures. 

·       Supervises and manages all aspects of facility maintenance and janitorial staff and facility maintenance, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. 

·       Assists museum staff with daily facility and safety tasks requested through space, email, and radio calls. 

·       Plans, schedule, and manage preventive maintenance for the facility. 

·       Oversee the procurement of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for facility maintenance and operations. 

·       Manages small facilities projects throughout the Museum. 

·       Supports Central Services’ techniques, including scheduling and training.  

·       Ensures compliance with all applicable building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards. 

·       Assists with company-wide events, such as Free Days, fundraising gala, etc. 

·       Performs other duties as assigned. 

·       Demonstrated experience managing facility operations, maintenance, and capital improvement projects. 

·       Experience overseeing safety and security protocols, including emergency preparedness and response. 

·       Previous experience in facilities management, preferably in a museum or cultural institution setting. 

·       Experience with budget management, forecasting, and cost control. 

·       Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements related to building codes, ADA accessibility, and environmental health and safety regulations. 

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with basic handyman skills, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
  • Proven experience managing trade vendors and external contractors.
  • Demonstrated people management or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Certification in Facilities Management (e.g., CFM, FMP, IFMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Must be able to lift <50 lbs
